Associate Pastor's Report
I have been blessed over the past 12 months to be surrounded by the greatest gifts to the church and to my own life. I am excited about the potential of 2010. As the year takes off with, I pray that we would not become consumed with the business of life, but that we would work within the seasons that God has developed for us this year.
Creative Arts - Worship Team
One church - multiple services
2009 has been a significant year for the creative arts team. Not only has God blessed the church with a fantastic team of people, but He has been developing the team into a new season. In 2009, I have personally learnt that God's plans will continually surpass what we can do within ourselves.
I would like to take a moment to honor those who have connected with the heartbeat of our church. Over the past year we have been working towards changing the atmosphere and culture of the church. We have been working towards the culture of "One church - multiple services". Our church is not the culmination of different ministries, but it is one community that expresses the vision through multiple services (Friday night, Sunday morning, and Sunday night). But working towards that could not possibly have taken place without people unified towards the same conviction. This has been no easy task, except for the passion of people to make a difference.
2010 (and beyond) is looking to be a fantastic year. Our church worship team are prepared for an expansion of our programme, but even more we are ready for an explosion of the Holy Spirit. It is with united hearts that we face 2010. It is with passion that we face our ministry. This year the focus of the worship team is three fold:
1. Re-engage people beyond faithfulness and into a passionate relationship with God.
2. To connect our hearts and lives to kingdom principles and the cause of Christ.
3. To aggressively pursue the presence of God with fruitfulness of signs and wonders.
As I lead this amazing team through 2010 I am excited about what God can do. As a church, I would ask that you pray for our worship team as they prepare for our ministry together.
Life groups
One community - multiple connections
In 2009 and 2010 our focus for life groups has been that they would be the hubs of our church community. I would like to start by thanking Pastor Lewis and Annette for the fantastic job they did with life groups. Without their valuable foundations we would have been on rocky ground.
I would like to encourage those leaders who contributed in 2009 to keep going with the fantastic job they have been doing.
A Community is more than just a meeting that takes place. OUR CHURCH IS SO MUCH MORE. We have small groups that meet to provide encouragement and support at a more personal and intimate level. In 2010, we have launched a campaign for us to grow up in God's community - discipleship. We are stretching into areas of discipleship because we believe that every person is designed with a destiny - its time to shape ours!
In 2010 we want our Life Groups to become hubs to the wheels that are pastoral care, evangelism and discipleship. We will be launching new initiative to promote the fractal culture of our church and implementing leadership development, support and care for an ever expanding ministry.
I am looking forward to seeing God build us together into His kingdom.
